We weren't able to celebrate Valentines day because of Michael getting his tonsils out. So I decided to celebrate President's day instead! :) Michael had to work on Presidents day, but lucky for me I was off. I decided to put together a romantic dinner for Michael since I was off work and I wanted to do something fun. I had a fun day of cleaning up the house and putting together my evening of fun. I kept asking Michael what his favorite dish was but this was hard for him to decide since he has only been eating broth because of his tonsils. Ha ha! He finally told me that his favorite dish is Parmesan Chicken. So I put together a yummy dinner of Chicken Parmesan, salad, spaghetti noodles and bread sticks. It was Delicious! I topped it off with a parfait dessert. He came home from work to a surprise dinner and a house fully decorated with rose petals and candles. It was alot of fun just spending the evening together having a yummy dinner and just spending time together enjoying each other's company. :)

Valentines day fun!!!!
Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to make crafts!! I was looking online to find something fun to make for my loved ones and I found these cute Hershey Kiss flower bouquets. I have made some Hershey Kiss flower bouquets before - but I had never seen any that were this cute. I found these really cute flower bouquets made with a popcorn base and I just thought they were so cute so I had to make them. I couldn't believe how easy they were to make and they turned out so cute! I made bouquets for all of my siblings, my aunt, my grandma and my mother in-law. Everyone seemed to just love them. I have to admit I was pretty proud of myself and how cute they turned out. :)
The only bad thing I found with these is that you don't want to push the skewers too hard into the Hershey kisses or it will poke right through and stick in your finger. OUCH! I did that and the skewer just stuck in my thumb and gave me a pretty good sore and a nice big hole in my thumb.. Not so good! :)

A February winter storm....BRRRRR.....
It is so funny because living in Utah my whole life you would think that I would remember winter is still going on in February. :) The weather has been so nice out and feels like spring that when we get hit with a nasty storm I wonder what is going on. Ha ha! Today was really, really windy and on the way home from work the wind was just batting me all over the place. Michael and I had to run some errands after work and while we were heading to the store we passed one of the local gas stations. The canopy covering the gas pumps was just rocking back and forth - it was nuts. I was just glad I wasn't under the canopy filling my car up with gas, I would have freaked out thinking the canopy was going to come crashing down. We went into the store and came out maybe 15 minutes later and the wind was just a blowing and it was snowing! The more we drove the more snow seemed to come down. We got home and unloaded the car - while unloading the car we were just covered in snow. The storm moved in so fast and it just poured down on us. We woke up in the morning to a bunch of snow on the lawns and a freezing cold morning. We have just been having a typical February winter storm. :)
I guess we are all just getting so excited for spring - we are just trying to push winter right on through. We will just have to wrap up in our jackets and wait a few more weeks for spring to hit. :)

Lots and lots of crafts!
We had a house full of kids on Saturday and so we decided to turn it into a day full of crafts. We were watching Aaron's 2 younger girls while they were at one of their missionary meetings and I thought it would be fun to do some crafts with them. I went over to my parents house in the morning to be there when the girls showed up. I had barely walked in the house when the phone rang and it was Tye asking if he and Matthew could come down and spend the day with us. Tye likes to come down and spend time with Grandpa because he will let Tye drive all over tar nation. :) The boys came down and and I started working on crafts with the kids while Grandpa and Tye ran all over the place running errands.
I found on the Internet how to make magnet boards and I thought that would be so fun to make. So Holly and I worked on making her a magnet board and some magnets. While Holly was working on making her magnet board and magnets I pulled out the foam puppets and made some foam puppets with Matthew and Taytum. While we were working on the crafts we heard the door open and Jeff and his two boys came over too. Connie had to sleep so that she could work the night shift so Jeff brought the boys down to get them out of the house. Josh saw me making crafts with the other kids and so he really wanted to make them too. He loves to make crafts so he was all over it. I think all the kids had fun making crafts and spending time with each other. It's always fun to get together and play with the cousins. I know my parents were having a blast because they just love having the grand kids over. It was a fun and eventful day. :)
Here is Matthew showing off his cute foam puppets. He made an elephant, Lion and Gorilla. They were so cute and he was carrying these all over the place. He was really proud of his puppets that he made all by himself. :)

Taytum showing off her puppets too. She wouldn't put them down either. She also made an Elephant, Tiger and Gorilla.

The two of them playing and showing off the cute puppets. They are getting so big.

After making crafts Taytum wanted some Cheese puffs. I told her she could have some but she had to eat them in the kitchen. That wouldn't do, she wanted to have them in a bowl and eat them in the front room while watching a movie. I wouldn't let her do that so she got mad and was throwing a tantrum and threw herself on the ground and was pouting.

Matthew was trying to be the big cousin and cheer her up. He was trying to get her to come and play, but she would have nothing to do with it.

The kids took my camera and they were taking more pictures of their puppets. I think they were pretty proud of their craftiness. :)

I wanted to get a picture of Holly and her cute magnet board. She was being funny about it and didn't' want me to take it. But guess who won the argument. :) Me!!!! I did!!!! Here is her cute magnet board with her magnets holding up Taytum's puppets. She did an awesome job! It turned out so cute. I really want to make one for me now.

After the girls left the boys were having fun playing around. Matthew loves to be in all the pictures. It was funny because we went in the other room and we came back in the kitchen to see Sam playing with the booster seat. He was standing up right in the middle of the seat. It was hilarious. I couldn't get my camera out fast enough to catch him standing in the middle of the seat. But He was having a great time playing with the booster seat. I mean who needs toys when you have booster seats to play with.

Out you go tonsils
Over the last year or so Michael has been getting sick with strep throat and sore throats. He went to the doctor again a couple of weeks ago with a sore throat. She looked down his throat and said his tonsils were huge and very swollen. She then double checked his chart and saw how many times he has been in the office for sore throats. After checking these things she said she recommends he get his tonsils out. She referred him to Dr. Stock and told him to make an appointment to get in right away. He made an appointment with Dr. Stock and sure enough the tonsils are big and nasty and need to come out. Michael was really glad to hear that because that means he can get rid of them and hopefully not have so many problems with them anymore. He made an appointment for Friday 2-4-11 to get them removed.
On Friday we went up to Davis Hospital at 7:00 AM and he went into surgery at 8:16 AM. While the nurse was getting him prepped to go into surgery we got to talking to her and come to find out she went through the whole adoption process. It was nice to sit and visit with her. She was great!! I was really impressed with her - she was so personable and friendly.
They took Michael back to surgery and I went and hung out in the waiting room and read my book. The doctor came about a little bit later and told me the surgery went well and that his tonsils were so big and nasty - it was definitely time to have them removed. The doctor told me that they were concerned with his oxygen levels and so they wanted to to monitor him for a few hours and possibly keep him overnight. I waited a little bit longer and then they came and got me to go up to the room for them to monitor Michael. They put us in a rehab room and so there was no TV! I just sat and read my book all day. Michael slept all day long and finally around 3:00 or so they ordered him some chicken noodle soup. I was surprised that he was able to eat the noodles, chicken and carrots without a problem. He said they were really soft though which was good. He went back to sleep and around 6:00-6:30 he asked the nurse if he could go home. He didn't' want to stay the night at the hospital - he hates being at the hospital. So they finally said we could go home! YAY!!!! It was a really long day at the hospital.
The doctor called in a prescription to Walgreen's by our house so we drove to the Walgreen's to pick up the meds. We waited in line for 20 minutes in the drive-thru just for them to tell me that my insurance doesn't cover the lollipops that the doctor prescribed. I told them that was fine and that I needed them. So they told me I needed to come back in 20-30 minutes so they could make them. I was so irritated! I took Michael home and put him to bed and then I went back out to run some errands with my mom and to pick up the meds. Good think I got them when I did because when I went back home Michael was hurting pretty bad. The doctor prescribed some liquid Loratab and these lollipop things. The lollipops look like a sucker and they taste fruity. You suck on the lollipop for a few minutes and it numbs your throat and mouth. They have been a lifesaver! He took his meds and went to bed.
He has been really tired and sleeping a ton, which is good. It hasn't been as bad as we thought it would be. Just sore and really, really tired. He took the whole week off and has been resting quite a bit. It is starting to heal and he is feeling alot better! I made him some breakfast burritos for dinner last night and he said it was sooooo good. He is excited to be able to eat some real food. :) Has has been living on top raman and shakes this last week and he is so sick of it. Once he can have the real stuff we will have to make him his favorite treat!

I am just thankful that it hasn't been as bad as everyone was saying. I am just hoping that having his tonsils out will make it easier for him to sleep. Once this all gets healed up we are going back to the doctor to get him tested for sleep apnea. Hopefully he will finally be able to have some good sleep at night!! :)

More precious than gold!
I just love all of my siblings so very much. I try to see them as often as possible, but sometimes we just don't see everyone as often as we like. I was looking at some pictures and I found these pictures of Trent's family. I just love his family so much and I don't seem them as much as I would like to, but when I do I sure enjoy the time I get to spend with them. :) I was looking at the camera and I came across these pictures so I had to just put them up on my blog to show off them off. :)
I have always felt a special bond to my brother Trent. He is such a kind person and will do anything for you at any given time. He is so much fun to be around and he always has you laughing when he is around. He is just a big goofball that is always full of laughs!

It seems like I have know Trent's wife Marci forever! They dated all through High school so Marci has been a part of the family for years. I just love her! She is such a great mom! I look up to her - she is a great example to me of how I want to be when I am a mother. She is so good to her kids and they are here life and I just really admire her for that!

Courtney is alot of fun. She is so creative and so talented in so many ways. She is the best piano player I have ever heard. She just amazes me - she can play anything she hears. She will sit and play the piano just for fun at my mom's house. She just amazes me. My mom loves it because her and my mom will sit at the piano and play duets together. She is also really funny, she is alot like her dad and does and says silly goofy things!

Katelyn is also very talented - she is a wonderful ballerina! She is so flexible it makes me hurt! :) She can do the splits like nothing. She is very dainty and all girl. She also makes me laugh with her silliness and jokes! I am just amazed by how talented she is in her dancing. She makes it look so fun and easy, she is very graceful in her ballet.

Sadie is just as cute as a bug. She is so cute and gives the biggest and best loves. :) She gets a little nervous and shy around everyone, but once she gets warmed up to you she is so cuddly. She is so smart and can talk so good. As a little baby Marci taught her sign language to be able to sign simple things that she wanted. I have always been amazed at how smart she is. I know that alot of that is due to Marci being such a great mom with her and teaching her. She is just a sweetheart! I love to listen to her talk and I love to see her cute smiling face!!

Bitter Cold
The past few weeks it has freezing outside! Now I have lived in Utah my whole life and I don't remember it ever being as cold as it has been lately. The weather has just been crazy all over the place these past few weeks. It seems like alot of states are getting hammered with snow and ice storms. Alot of my factories that I work with at work have been closing down due to the weather. My major factory is in Peachtree City, Georgia and they closed down for 3 days because of bad ice storms. The roads were nothing but sheets of glass. It has just been crazy. We haven't been getting hit with the storms per say, but we have been getting hit with the freezing cold. You will get in you car to drive to work and you can see your breath still even with the heater full blast. BRRR..... It has sure been cold. To me it seems like when it is this cold outside we should be getting some sort of snow or something to show for it. I guess the only thing we can show for it this time is our breath freezing in the air! :) All I can say is its time for this cold winter weather to move on....I think we need to welcome spring with open arms. I am tired of being so cold and never been able to warm up!!!!! BRRRRR.........
