Pirates Dinner Show

After a fun day the Universal Studio's we spent an enjoyable evening at the Pirates Dinner Show in Buena Park, California. It is just a fun atmosphere to be in and it takes you back to Pirates days. When you get to the dinner show they have you check in and you sit around the corridor looking at souvenirs and watching acrobatics. They have a bunch of the characters out doing all sorts of entertainment until it is time to take you to your seats. They have alcoholic beverages for people to buy and fun souvenir mugs to purchase while they have "happy hour". We got to the show pretty much just in time for them to take us to our seats, so we didn't hang around and have "happy hour" with all the other guests.
When you first walk in they have a spot for you and your group to get your photo taken so you have a picture souvenir of your Pirates Adventure. Of course I couldn't miss out on an opportunity for a photo! :-) I had to get the picture to remember our fun time.

They then take you to the theater room to your seats. It is really cool in there. It is really dim with very little lighting around where you sit to eat. They have the atmosphere like you are outside watching a pirate battle. They have you sit at a long table that has little lantern candles on it. They have a huge pirate ship out in the middle of the theater and all the tables are surrounded around the ship. The pirate ship has a 1000 gallons of water around it and they have a little motor boat that rides around ship during the show. It was just decorated really, really cute. Each section of the theater is divided up into colors and you cheer for the pirate that represents your color. They put on a pirate battle among the pirates on the ship while you eat your dinner. They played some pirate games that the audience cheers the pirates on and the pirate that got cheered for the most would do better at his game. The point of the show is to cheer on your pirate to get him to win. It is an interactive show where you are yelling and cheering throughout the whole show. We took a few pictures of the show before our camera died. We were dummies and forgot to charge our camera the night before!

They told alot of corny pirate jokes throughout the show as they tried to put action and humor into the entertainment. It was very entertaining. My favorite part of the show is when they had one of the pirates and a gypsy lady that they had kidnapped do an acrobat show. It was AMAZING! The guy climbed up to one of the chandeliers that they had hanging and he wrapped his legs around he chandelier and was hanging upside down by his knees with a harness on his forehead The girl had the other part of the harness around her neck and she was twirling all around doing all kinds of acrobatic tricks with him holding her up by the strength of his head and her having this harness wrapped around her neck. It was incredible. They must have alot of trust in that other person they work with and they must have lots of practice and be really strong. I was really impressed.

They had a pretty good dinner too. They had a 1/2 of a rotisserie chicken with rice, steamed veggies and a piece of garlic bread. They had unlimited drinks for sprite or coca-cola or if you preferred, water. For dessert they had an apple cobbler and a scoop of vanilla ice cream! It was delicious. I wish we could have had seconds on the cobbler! :-) it was YUMMY! It was a blast!!!
