Clogging Competition

This weekend was a fun weekend filled with all kinds of productions and competitions. Courtney made nationals!!! On Saturday we went to Lagoon to watch Courtney perform in her clogging competition. It was a full morning of clogging competitions. I didn't realize clogging was such a big deal. But it is huge...people come from all over to clog and compete!

Her first competition was a clogging duet. Here she is with her clogging partner Sierra. They are just both so cute and they had so much fun. It was funny because there were about 5 other duets that performed. Courtney and Sierra were at the end of the line to do their clogging. As they are standing up on the stage Courtney looks down and realizes she didn't have her clogs on, at that same moment Trent noticed she didn't have them on either. So Trent ran up to the stage and went behind to hurry and help Courtney put her clogs on. They did it in record time, he had barely gotten done helping her buckle them up and it was their turn to go out and show the crowd their duet.

They make it look like so much fun and I think they really enjoy it. Courtney and Sierra placed in 2nd place on their duet. They did such an awesome job!

After the duet portion of the clogging competition Courtney had to do a solo. I would be terrified to have to go out and clog in front of everyone, but she didn't act nervous at all. She got out there and did her thing. She's a natural! She took 2nd in her solo dance!

While all the clogging was going on and the music was playing cute little Sadie was keeping us entertained. She was just a dancing and having a good time. She was so funny she would watch the kids clog and watch their feet and then she would do the same. The people sitting around us were all pointing and laughing at how cute she was. She is such a sweetheart and definitely a daddy's girl. Her and Courtney got to have a daddy daughter day with Trent and they just
absolutely loved it.

Last but not least they had their group dance. They have 5 kids in their group and they did such an amazing job. I was so impressed with how they all kept in rhythm together. It was like none of them missed a beat. They all had such good rhythm and coordination. It was so much fun to watch. They all just made it look fun. I didn't realize but they get judged on their facial expressions too. Not only do they have to focus on their clogging, but they have to focus on smiling. The bigger your smile the better! I don't think they had to worry about smiling because they were having so much fun it just came natural. I was so proud of Courtney! Her group did such a good job - they took 3rd place in the group competition!! WAY TO GO COURTNEY!!!
