closer to us. After dinner we went to our hotel room and went to bed. We got up early and headed on our way to finish the remainder of the drive. We arrived at Michael's parents house around noon or so.
This year we decided that we were going to just stay and visit with Michael's immediate family and not go around visiting everyone. So we sat around and just visited with the family. We didn't do anything too earth shattering, but we did have some really nice visits and we were able to spend quality time with the family. Ryan took off work and school so that he was able to spend some time with us. We brought the Wii with us so that we could play some games with the family. Michael, his dad and Ryan had fun playing the game Link on the Wii. All the boys seem to really like Link - it is a shooting game where you hit targets and stuff. They spent quite awhile playing that game.
Whenever we go to Arizona Michael loves to hit the Used CD/DVD store called Zia. So one of the days we were there we went with Ryan and Hayden to Zia . Liz had to work so she wasn't able to go with us. It was really fun just spending some time with just Ryan and getting to know him better and just talking to him. It was really, really fun.
Since we were there for Michael's mom's birthday we decided that we wanted to make her a special birthday dinner. We made her Michael's famous ribs, coleslaw, potato salad and Fruit pizza.
I went into the kitchen to make the fruit pizza and my new little buddy Hayden came in there to help me make the pizza. He was so funny he not only wanted to help, but he wanted to eat the fruit and he kept eating the whip cream. We had a good time making the fruit pizza together.
Since we were making this dinner for her we thought why not invite the grandparents over to have dinner with us and celebrate her birthday. So we invited Grandpa Lindberg, Grandpa McCoy and Emilee to come and have dinner with us. I think they had a good time just visiting with each other.

I really think they all enjoyed being able to get together and spend some time together. Grandpa Lindberg is so busy these days that he isn't around much, so it was really nice to be able to see him and spend some time with him.
Since we made the dinner Ryan and Liz were so gracious to do the dishes. :) It is always a treat not to have to do the dishes.

After dinner I was able to go in the living room and visit with Liz. Liz and Ryan have been married for about 5 years and this was the very first time I was able to talk with her and get to know her better. It was alot of fun sitting and visiting with her.
Hayden was so excited and willing to help grandma open her birthday present that we got for her. We didn't know what to do for her birthday this year. We thought it would be fun to make a basket and fill it full of things that she likes to do and things to help her relax.

We were lucky that the timing worked out that Grandpa McCoy and Emilee were back from Denmark. Emilee just arrived back to Arizona from Denmark just days before we arrived. Grandpa and Emilee spend about 6 months in Denmark and then 6 months in the states. They do this so that Emilee can keep her citizenship in Denmark.
And lucky for us Grandpa Lindberg was available to come and have dinner with us. His church callings and work didn't have things going on, so he was able to come and visit with us.
It was so good and fun to see everyone.
Ryan had to work the next morning and we were headed out so Ryan came over to see us one last time. We said our goodbye's and Ryan went on his way to work.
We visited a little bit longer and then decided it was about time to hit the road. We said our goodbyes to his parents and hit the road.
On our way out we stopped by to say our goodbye's to Hayden and Liz. We sat and visited with Liz for about an hour or so and had a really nice visit. After visiting and playing with our buddy Hayden we said our goodbyes and went on our way.
As we were heading out of the neighborhood we decided we had better stop by and say hi and bye to Michael's uncle Les. He was working on his daughter's place that was on the way to the freeway. We stopped by and visited for just a few minutes and then we were on our way back to Utah. We drove to St. George and stayed the night and then finished the drive back to home the next day. We had a really good time and a really nice visit. This trip was by far the very best visit we have had in Arizona. We are so thankful for family and the love that we all have for each other. We had such a nice time that we decided that we will go back to Arizona for Christmas for the very first time. We are looking forward to the next time we get to go and visit. We just love our families so much and we are so thankful for the time we get to spend with them.
