The Girls weekend trip to St. George

This year we decided to go to St. George while the boys went hunting. This is the first time that mom , Alisa and I have ever done this. It was fun to just spend time with my mom and sister. Both Alisa and I took off work on Friday and we drove to St. George. We had lots of fun driving - we were laughing and telling stories. My stomach and face hurt so bad from laughing so hard. It is always an adventure when you have my mom around. There is ALWAYS something to laugh at with her. She is such a dork! Mom had us stop at pretty much every gas station on the way to St. George. She thinks that the gas stations have just the cutest things ever. She is crazy.

When we got to St. George we checked into our hotel and then we decided to go and see a movie. We didn't really know what was playing so we just drove to a theater to see what was playing. Mom said she wanted to see the movie RED with Bruce Willis. Because looking at the poster the movie looked like it was an action thriller, but it ended up being a comedy and my mom so did not want to see a comedy. Alisa and I loved it. We want to go and see it again with our husbands. It was funny though because my mom ALWAYS has to have popcorn when she goes to the show. Well we were running late so we were trying to hurry in before the show started. Mom got her popcorn and we were hurrying to get to the screen and we go to where they check your ticket to let you in and we get there and my mom can't find her ticket. Of Course! We were laughing because we couldn't figure out how you can lose your ticket from the time you buy your ticket to the time you get to the door to get in. Ha ha! We finally got into see the show and it was great!
After the movie we went to dinner and then we went back to the room to hang out and watch some horror movies on TV. We went to bed and we all woke up in the middle of the night because it sounded like the shower was running. It wasn't the shower, it was rain and it was just pouring. We were all nervous because on Saturday we had tickets to go and see Thriller at Tuachan. We got up on Saturday and went to Denny's for breakfast (mom's favorite). We then drove out to Colorado City to see the polygamous town. We drove up and down the streets then Alisa and I went into the store. Mom was all nervous they were going to arrest us or something for being in their city. She is nuts. The store was very strange though, it was so quiet. No one was talking and we were definitely out of place. They were all wearing long dresses (mostly blue) and they all had their hair the same. It was like being in a different dimension. It was really interesting though. We spent a few hours just driving around and checking it out. We had a good time.
After we got back to St. George we went shopping until it was time for dinner and time to go Tuachan to see Thriller. The weather ended up being good and it wasn't too cold. We had to get to Tuachan about 1/2 hour or so early to pick up our tickets. While we were standing around and waiting they had some of the characters walking around and freaking people out. It was hilarious to watch people. The characters were zombies and they were pretty freaky.

One of the characters came up and freaked Alisa out. It was so funny. They get right in your face and they just keep trying to freak you out. They had this one kid that was climbing all over the place and getting in every one's face. They were great actors. They sure could play the part.

They let us in to go to our seats and while people were sitting down the characters were climbing all over the chairs and sitting by people. Well I had my camera out and I was showing Alisa and mom pictures from our California trip. Apparently one of the Zombies came up and was standing right behind mom right in her face and mom didn't notice her until a few minutes later and mom just started screaming. All of the people sitting around us were just laughing and they told mom that the character had been there for quite some time. They thought it was so funny to hear her scream. From that point on mom kept asking me if I would trade her spots because she was out in the open and they kept coming over and getting in her face. I thought it was hilarious and I was just a giggling.
The show was a bunch of different songs that they danced to from a bunch of horror shows. They did a comedy spoof on all of the different songs. There was one dance that they did that they had a bunch of tap dancers dancing to a Riverdance type of song and they had a clown killing and shooting the dancers with a machine gun. It was hilarious and I was laughing out loud and there is this old guy that I am sitting by and he says "that's not something to be laughed at!" He was making comments throughout the whole show - I was just laughing. They did an excellent job. At the intermission of the show it started getting really cold, so it was a good thing that we brought jackets and sweatshirts with us. At the end of the showing they did a firework show, it was alot of fun. I am really glad that we went.
We went back to our room and watched a little TV before we crashed. We were all pretty tired from a long and eventful day. The next morning we got up, got ready and headed on our way home. Lucky for us the rain didn't start until we left, we had rain the whole way home.
ok, so I couldn't resist putting the very best part of our trip on here. HA! HA! HA! When we checked into our hotel room at the Howard Johnson we decided that where we were staying was not the best place. It was pretty dirty, old and rundown. I blame my parents, they are the ones who made the reservations. :) They said that Howard Johnson used to be really nice, I guess that was way back when. It was all good though, I mean come on how long do you really stay in the room anyway? So we go in the room and there is this chair sitting in the corner of the room, it was so disgusting. It was FILTHY! My mom was afraid to even be by it, she made Alisa sleep in the bed by the chair because she was not about to be near it. She just knew it was crawling with bugs. I had to take a picture to remember what a great chair it was! I even sent it to my mom and sister yesterday on their emails so that they could save it as a background on there computer and treasure it always!
